Effective 2/1/2021
Hello, it’s a beautiful day to talk about real estate.
One thing I wanted to go over with you today is a new
regulation in Westport, MA regarding the septic systems and
cesspools, just a quick overview.
If you have a cesspool and you live in Westport, the
town is giving you 5 years to upgrade that to a new nitrogen
reducing septic system that they’re going to be requiring in
the town. Anybody with a cesspool is going to have 5 years to
do that.
Anybody who is selling property, if your septic system
fails, you’re going to need to upgrade to this new nitrogen
system.
And any new construction in Westport, is also going to be
required to upgrade.
There is a lot of information on it. That’s just kind of a quick
overview on what’s going on. It came into effect on February
1st of 2021, just a few weeks ago.
I’m going to include some information on that. I will include
some links attached to this so that you can look up more about it.
If you have any questions feel free to call us. We’d love to talk
about it with you.
Make it a beautiful day.
Take care,
Karen McLinden
